Corner Brook, NL – The newly released Provincial Sustainable Forest Management Strategy (SFMS) has taken some small steps towards true sustainability but still has a way to go according to an environmental coalition. The Sierra Club of Canada, the Protected Areas Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Labrador Métis Nation, the Third Signatory, Father John McCarthy, PhD, and the Canadian Nature Federation responded to a call for public input on the provincial strategy in August of 2003 by submitting a collective set of recommendations.
