(Corner Brook, April 5th) Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited (CBPPL), one of two industrial logging companies on the Island, is planning to carry out forest harvesting and road building in key woodland caribou and Newfoundland marten habitat over the next five years.
Sierra Club of Canada (SCC) has recently learned that CBPPL’s new logging plan makes little attempt to address provincial recommendations to maintain habitat for the endangered Newfoundland marten and the Island’s caribou population.
